Aurora Foods Announces Two New Lines of Duncan Hines Products, Duncan Hines Snack Express Kits and Duncan Hines Fun Frosters

St. Louis, MO - May 2, 2001 - Aurora Foods (NYSE: AOR), today announced that it is introducing two new lines of Duncan Hines products, Duncan Hines Snack Express Kits and Duncan Hines Fun Frosters. Both continue to strengthen the Duncan Hines brand by extending their consumer appeal with innovative new products.

Duncan Hines Snack Express Kits let consumers make their favorite homemade snacks like Marshmallow Rice Treats and S'Mores in a fraction of the time it takes now. All the ingredients are in one box, and it takes just three minutes to prepare in the microwave, compared with 20 to 30 minutes from scratch.

Duncan Hines Fun Frosters combine Duncan Hines Ready-To-Serve Frosting with three of Nestle's best-selling brands -- Nestle Crunch, Wonka Nerds and Nestle Chocolate Covered Morsels -- to create a unique, new frosting ideal for those special fun baking occasions. Pieces of the candy are packed in a specially sealed lid and can be either mixed with the frosting or placed on top of the frosting after it is spread. Each of the Nestle products is prominently branded on the Duncan Hines package so that the consumer can easily recognize these new combinations.

Last week, Aurora Foods reported that net sales in its Duncan Hines products for the first quarter that ended March 31, 2001, rose 12% from year-ago levels. Duncan Hines is the largest brand at Aurora Foods.
