24 Hour Fitness Tees Off with LPGA Favorites Pleasanton, CA - July 19, 2001 - 24 Hour Fitness, the leading global health and fitness chain, is pleased to announce its sponsorship of Tracy Hanson and Pamela Kerrigan, two Ladies Professional Golf Association superstars. The 2001 LPGA Tour season, which is currently underway, includes 40 events and a total purse in excess of $42 million, a record for the Tour. This year’s LPGA Tour schedule also features 19 $1 million events. "Not only are Tracy and Pamela two of the most enthusiastic golfers on the LPGA tour, they are also fantastic role models for female athletes everywhere," said Chris Marek, Director of New Business Development for 24 Hour Fitness USA, Inc. Tracy Hanson is a graduate of San Jose State University where she was a four time All-American athlete and member of the 1992 NCAA National Championship team. In 1994, Hanson was named the Women Professional Golfers' European Tour Rookie of the Year. Shortly afterwards, in 1995, she joined the LPGA Tour and has since earned a number of impressive titles and distinctions. Hanson recorded a career-low round of 63 during the 3rd round of the 1996 Oldsmobile Classic, recorded her first ever hole-in-one in 1997 at the Nabisco Dianah Shore Major Championship, ranked 5th on the LPGA Tour for putting an average of 29.03 putts per round in 1998, and achieved six top twenty-five tournament finishes in 2000. Pamela Kerrigan’s 2000 Rookie season on the LPGA Tour brought her earnings over $24,000. In 2000 and 1999, she finished 2nd in LPGA’s Qualifying School. Kerrigan’s other professional golf experience includes: SBC Futures Tour, Golden Bear Tour, Asian Golf Circuit, Gold Coast Pro Golf Tour and Central Florida Challenge Tour. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Colby-Sawyer College in 1987 with a major in Exercise Physiology and a minor in Business Administration. She attended the University of North Texas for graduate studies in Exercise Physiology. Upcoming tournaments for the LPGA Tour include: Sybase Big Apple Classic in New Rochelle, New York; Giant Eagle LPGA Classic in Vienna, Ohio; Weetabix Women’s British Open in Berkshire, England and Wendy’s Championship for Children in New Albany, Ohio.
